The purpose of Rubicon Theatre Company is to entertain, enhance, and educate the region's citizens and tourists via the production of unique professional theater performances, festivals, special events, and educational initiatives.

Rubicon has received numerous regional and national awards, including the prestigious Drama Desk Award for "Outstanding Revue," the L.A. Drama Critics' Circle Margaret Harford Award for "Sustained Excellence," 15 Ovation Awards, and the Ventura Chamber of Commerce Poinsettia Award for Non-Profit of the Year. Katharine Farmer, a member of the Rubicon crew, received a Santa Barbara Indy Award for her direction of The Last Train to Nibroc.
